Fulfilling demand in challenging times


Client visits are an integral part of the specifying process when it comes to aesthetic product ranges. Being able to present high-quality samples during sales consultations can showcase the different product options available. 

Our challenge

When we first met with our client, an architectural hardware supplier, demand for their product sample cases was growing quickly. They desperately needed completed packs to support their sales teams. 

Although customer visits had been largely on hold due to the global pandemic, lockdown restrictions were beginning to ease, leaving their sales teams in a difficult position. Our client wanted to reinstate important customer visits but had no sample cases to assist them with their consultations. 

With a budget already in place for the project, they tasked blp to fulfil two different sample cases within their price range. The cases had several different components, with multiple samples needing to slot together and fit into individual compartments. With one case containing almost 50 items across more than a dozen fitments, hand packing the items whilst meeting the pricing aspirations was challenging. 

The blp solution

blp understood our client’s severe time constraints – they needed the packed product as quickly as possible. We were confident we could complete the project quickly and accurately, thanks to our contract packing experience and in-house capabilities. 

We worked closely to find the best solution, agreeing to pack the samples through a time trial basis. By taking this approach, we removed the time it would have taken to estimate, quote and schedule the project.

As demand was so high, we agreed to complete 50 cases, plus, we honoured their current price, so they could get the much-needed products out to their sales team without having to increase their budget. 

We completed the cases quickly, but with a public holiday looming, delivery of the products would be delayed. To make sure the client didn’t have to wait any longer, and to everyone’s delight, our team delivered the sample cases to the client personally.
